Wave springs

Technical springs

There are four types of wave springs: Singe wave springs, Multi wave springs, Sinus springs, Finger springs. TEVEMA has all these in its collection. Multi wave springs are especially suitable if you need more than one wave ring for the application.

Buy wave springs

Wave springs are ideal for confined spaces.  Wave springs are made from flat wire. The wire is then warped to create waves; hence the name wave springs. These technical springs are used in ball bearings and electric motors.

Wave springs are made from flat wire, visually similar to spring band steel. The tools used depend on the thickness of the steel, so making prototypes is slightly cheaper than normal. Single wave springs have two ends resting on a pressure point. By applying means such as flattening these ends, damage to the surface is prevented. This prevents clutter, which can damage an application in the long run.

Wave springs can reduce up to 50% of the height required for compression springs, with the same force.

Types of wave springs

There are four types of wave springs:

  • Singe wave springs
  • Multi wave springs
  • Sinus springs
  • Finger springs

TEVEMA has all these in its collection. Multi wave springs are especially suitable if you need more than one wave ring for the application.

Wave springs compared to disc springs

Many applications have the choice of using disc springs or wave springs. The difference between wave springs and disc springs is the inner diameter. Disc springs often have a slightly thicker diameter so that the inner diameter becomes smaller. This has its advantages, but the wave ring is a good alternative when you need more space at the inner diameter.
